On May 2002, Groenscup stage begins., played by all 'citizens' of Groningen. Groenscup implementation are not separated from PPI Groningen. Groenscup impresses neat, cheerful, creative, passionate, and in harmony, due to the fact that Groningen residents have those characteristics. Groenscup successfully became great event, not only because of the number of people participated, but because of the spirit of togetherness it brought. Groenscup is not for quest of trophies, but arena for the brotherhood.

Groenscup is the embodiment of enthusiasm and expression of Groningen residents and visitors, not the "come, win, come home " arena...( ism)

Since 2009, Indonesia's Ambassador for the Netherlands, Mr. Junus Effendi Habibie participated in Groenscup by giving Trophy "JE Habibie" up for awards every two Groenscup event.

Contingent provisions, Team / Athletes and Supporters

Contingent is a collection of teams/athletes who represent certain Indonesian community in the Netherlands or Europe or special contingent representing Indonesian ambassador. Each Indonesian community in the Netherlands or Europe can participate and register more than one contingent.
Teams or athletes are Indonesian citizens or other citizens able to speak Indonesian pretty well and registered to particular contingent participating in the event.
All athletes who are not Indonesian citizens or having no Indonesian passport will be asked privately to fill out form written in Indonesian language on Saturday, May 22, 2010 before the game starts. Further questions by the organizing committee are also applicable.
Contingent can register more than one team/athlete for every sport held on Groenscup if certain allocation is still available. This will be determined by the organizing committee.
Each member of a contingent is not allowed to represent another different contingent.
Contingent and its teams/athletes have to submit copy of their passports.
Supporters are the parties that accompany the contingent and its teams/athletes to provide support.
Contingent and its teams/athletes and supporters must be represented by a person in charge to facilitate coordination with the organizing committee.  
Each contingent is responsible for its team/athletes and their supporters, and required to participate in maintaining good and peaceful environment and atmosphere during Groenscup 2010.
Each member of contingent must have and carry health insurance. The committee will only provide first aid.
Any form of violation of these general rules may result in disqualification for the teams/athletes, even contingent and supporters. The committee of Groenscup 2010 has full authority in imposing sanctions based on related regulations.
The committee provides up to two warnings for verbal violation before disqualification sanction is applied, while for direct physical violation, automatic disqualification is applicable.

Registration Provisions for Contingent and Team/Athlete

Registration is opened on April 18th, 2011 and closed on May 22nd, 2011, or until the number of participants has reached maximum quota.
Contingent and its teams/athletes can only be enrolled by filling the registration form online on Groenscup 2011 official website: http://www.groenscup.nl.
Each contingent can send more than one team/athlete with the following composition: the first team is noted in the list of participant, while the second team and the rest will be recorded in the “waiting list” and will be included in the list of participants if there is vacant quota.
Participant who is considered late on registration because of the quota has been filled by another participant, will be noted on waiting list and will be entered into the list of participant if there is another participant resigned.
Payment of registration fee and submission of required documents (scanned passport and insurance number) may be performed starting April 18th until May 22nd, 2011.
Registration is valid after the contingentand its teams/athletes have paid the registration fee and submit all the required documents.
Teams/athletes listed as participants will receive official confirmation letter from Groenscup organizing committee, as well as the receipt of payment.
Payment can be sent to the following ING bank account : account number: P1697502 on behalf of: PPI Groningen (BIC code: INGBNL2A and IBAN code NL98INGB0001697502)
Cancellation of registration by a contingent and its teams/athletes can be done no later than May 29th 2010. Administrative cost by 50% of the total cost of registration fee is applied.  
Cancellation of registration by a contingent and its teams/athletes and supporters after May 29th 2010 is not applicable. If case it happens, the registration fee will not be returned.  
If the cancellation of registration is made by the Groenscup organizing committee, full refund will be sent along with objective explanation from the committee.
The possibility of next stage registration to fill the vacant quota of certain sport will be announced later on the Groenscup website.

Groenscup 2011

Groenscup is an annual sporting event among Indonesian students who study in Netherland. Groenscup has been running since 2002. This year (2011), the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) Groningen organizes this activity for the tenth time.

The event will be held on:

Saturday and Sunday, 11 dan 12 June 2011;
in di ACLO Sports Center, Blauwborgje 16, 9747 AC Groningen.

Indonesian students in reside in the Netherlands and Europe.

Indonesia society, guests and other invited parties.

Groenscup 2011 aims to:

Build and establish kinship and brotherhood, also shape up the spirit of sportsmanship for the youth of Indonesia; in this case for Indonesian students reside in Holland and Europe.
Unite Indonesian community in the Netherlands and Europe. It’s also intended to commemorate the National Education and the National Awakening Day of Indonesia.

About Groningen

Groningen, is a major city in the northern part of Holland with a population of 185,000 citizen and it is a 8^th largest city in the Netherlands. This large city with its own hospitality is the capital of the province which is also called Groningen. It's easy to feel comfortable in this city, mainly because of the large open area in between beautiful modern construction and the small houses. Groningen city is a student town and also the youngest city in the Netherlands (the large number of students and more than half the population is younger than 35 years).

The city has several attractions:

Grote Markt, located in the city center. No other city offers a terrace and pedestrian areas that indirectly invites you to enjoy a glass of drinking and chatting in the early spring and late autumn.
Church of the famous Martini. Martini tower built from the 12th century. Although what you can see the most is a relic of the 16th century.
Museum of Groningen (by Mendini), an example of modern and stunning architecture. It has collection of paintings from the 17th century. Some other museums in town are the Anatomical Museum, the Northern Maritime Museum, the Niemeijer Tobacco Museum, the Gerardus van der Leeuw Anthropological Museum, the Museum of Graphic Art, and the University Museum.
